The 9th Annual Dayton & Miami Valley Construction Career Expo introduced high school students and teachers to future career opportunities in the construction industry. Many apprenticeship programs were represented with expo booths,  informational sessions and hands on activities.

and are still the standard for training excellence.

Understanding Apprenticeships

Apprenticeship Training Programs affiliated with the Miami Valley Building Trades provide Career Pathways for students and others transitioning into the workforce by developing core academic, technical, and employability skills. 

  • Challenge Yourself and Earn a Competitive Living while you Learn a Skilled Trade

  • Apprenticeship Training Involves In-Classroom and On the Job Training

  • Apprenticeship Training is Tuition Free and Benefit Rich

  • Apprentices Receive College Credit for In Classroom Instruction

  • Apprentices Earn Wages and Acquire Benefits while Training On the Job

  • Apprentice Programs Require Approximately 160 Hours of Classroom Instruction and 1,000+ Hours of on the Job Training, Annually

  • Typically, Apprentice Programs Take 3-5 Years to Complete

  • Upon graduation, an Apprentice becomes Journeyman, or skilled tradesman

  • Apprenticeship Opportunities are available for Men and Women

  • Become an Apprentice in the Construction Industry and Help Build the Future!
